School Counselor for Central Student Health Services in Kungsör

The central student health services in Kungsör Municipality consist of school nurses, counselors, school doctors, and psychologists. Together with principals, special education teachers, and special educators, they form the student health team for each school.

The student health team primarily works to promote and prevent issues regarding all students' well-being, attendance, development, and health. The student health services are available to students in compulsory school, adapted compulsory school, and upper secondary school.

Job Responsibilities

As a school counselor with us, you have a special responsibility for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective, and you will actively participate in and assist the Director of Operations in the development of the central student health services. You will be a driving force in our systematic quality work within student health. With your competence, you contribute to ensuring that appropriate interventions for students in need of special support are considered and offered. Furthermore, you work to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels, focusing on students' health, learning, development, and working environment.

As a counselor, you also conduct social investigations prior to enrollment in adapted compulsory school and are part of the intake team for adapted compulsory school.

Your duties also include:

• contributing knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, development, etc.
• conducting school social mapping and social assessments when necessary
• offering supervision, consultation, and advice to school staff from a social perspective
• collaborating with students, guardians, school staff, and external actors as needed regarding interventions for students
• cooperating with authorities and organizations in preventive work concerning the municipality's students
• participating in and driving our systematic quality work with the municipality's central student health services

Our operational student health team consists of two counselors, two school nurses, one school doctor, and one overarching school psychologist, led by the Director of Operations for compulsory school. You will collaborate closely with the principals at the four schools you work with, most of which are located centrally and close to each other. You also collaborate with the school social team and SSPF (school, social services, police, and leisure time) to, among other things, promote the psychosocial and social health of our children and young people.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic degree as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or similar. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education and expected to graduate in January 2027. We would like you to have experience working with children and young people. A B-class driver's license is required for the position as travel between workplaces is included. We expect you to be computer literate and able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

You are receptive and have the ability to build good relationships and create understanding for students' needs. We appreciate your drive and commitment to your assignment. Conditions

The position is a temporary substitute for parental leave at 100% until 2027-09-30, with a possible option for extension.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required for employment.
